The short version
1. Scope and operator
This Privacy Policy applies to the Get Zahara website, Zahara Parent, Zahara Child, associated device software, and related support services (together, the “Service”). Zahara is owned and operated by RubyNav Inc., 15322 Marek Lane, Guy, Texas 77444, United States. RubyNav Inc. is the operator responsible for questions from parents and other users about privacy.
This policy covers the public website today and the production mobile and device services as they become available. Features that are not enabled do not collect the associated information.
2. Information we collect
The information collected depends on the features an adult organizer enables and the permissions granted on each device.
Account and family profile
Adult name, email, authentication records, family membership, subscription status, child profile name or nickname, age or age band, and family settings.
Device and usage information
Enrolled device identifiers, operating system, app inventory or categories where permitted, screen-time totals, schedules, policy events, Safe Web decisions, and security diagnostics.
Location and safety information
Precise or approximate location when enabled, safe-place events, emergency check-ins, panic alerts, and consent-based trip or vehicle information for adult members.
Family communication
Trusted contact information, message and call metadata, family messages, permission requests, and content a user deliberately submits to support or an enabled AI feature.
Transactions and support
Plan, renewal, transaction identifiers, support requests, privacy requests, and communications with RubyNav Inc. Payment card data is handled by the applicable app store or payment processor.
Website and diagnostics
IP address, browser and device type, security events, essential cookies or local storage, and aggregated performance data. We do not use advertising cookies.
Please do not submit information the Service does not request. Zahara is designed to avoid collecting private diary content for recommendations, passwords, payment-card numbers, and unrelated communications.
3. How information is used
- Provide account access, family membership, device enrollment, and requested parental-control features.
- Apply screen-time, schedule, Safe Web, app, device, and home-network rules selected by an authorized adult.
- Deliver family messages, calls, check-ins, permission requests, location events, and emergency alerts.
- Generate age-aware wellbeing summaries or recommendations from feature data that is permitted for that purpose.
- Secure, troubleshoot, maintain, and improve the Service; prevent fraud or abuse; and respond to support and privacy requests.
- Comply with law, app-store requirements, and valid legal process.
RubyNav Inc. does not use private family content to train a general-purpose AI model without separate, affirmative permission. AI suggestions are guidance only and may be incomplete or incorrect.
4. Children under 13 and parental rights
Zahara is a family service in which an adult parent or legal guardian creates and controls a child profile. Before collecting personal information online from a child under 13 beyond a legally permitted limited exception, RubyNav Inc. will provide direct notice and obtain verifiable parental consent.
A verified parent or legal guardian may:
- review the personal information collected from their child;
- ask us to correct or delete that information;
- revoke consent and stop further collection or use;
- consent to internal use while refusing optional disclosure to third parties; and
- receive an explanation of the information collected, its purpose, and the service providers involved.
We do not require a child to provide more personal information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity. If consent is withdrawn, affected features may stop working and the associated child profile may need to be closed.
5. When information is disclosed
RubyNav Inc. may disclose the minimum information needed to service providers that support hosting, data storage, authentication, notifications, maps, calling, customer support, security, payments, or an AI feature the family enables. Providers are required by contract to use information only for the authorized service and apply appropriate confidentiality and security protections.
Information may also be disclosed when an adult organizer directs it, to protect a person from an urgent safety threat, to investigate misuse, to comply with valid legal process, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to continued privacy protections. A current list of production subprocessors will be published before general mobile availability.
RubyNav Inc. does not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Children's personal information is not disclosed for targeted advertising.
6. Retention and deletion
Personal information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the specific feature, to maintain security and family account integrity, or to meet legal obligations. Location and emergency data are assigned shorter retention periods than general account records. Data is securely deleted or de-identified when no longer needed.
Verified account-deletion requests remove the account and associated personal data unless a limited record must be kept for security, fraud prevention, payment, dispute, or legal compliance. Residual encrypted backups are isolated from ordinary use and expire on their normal rotation. Privacy-request records may be retained to document compliance.
See the Account and Data Deletion page for the current request process.
7. Security
RubyNav Inc. uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed for the sensitivity of family information. Measures include encrypted transport, access controls, tenant separation, audit records, provider review, secure development practices, and incident response procedures. No system is completely secure, and users should protect account credentials and keep enrolled devices updated.
8. Privacy rights and choices
Depending on residence and applicable law, an adult may request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of personal data; opt out of sale, targeted advertising, or certain qualifying profiling; and appeal a privacy-request decision. RubyNav Inc. will not discriminate against a person for exercising a privacy right.
Requests are submitted through Privacy Choices. We verify identity and authority before acting, especially where child or family information is involved. An authorized agent may be asked to provide written authority, and the consumer may be asked to confirm the request directly.
9. Changes and contact
Material changes will be posted here and, when appropriate, presented to the adult account organizer before they take effect. Fresh parental consent will be requested when required for a material change involving a child's information.
